Nationally Certified Journeyman Millwright

As a member of Local #204 for 5 years, I completed over 8000 hours of "on the job" millwright apprenticeship, which included over 600 class room hours of instruction. I focused my training on skills needed in the power generation industry. I have since served as a journeyman millwright and traveled all over the US performing and learning the trade.

WA State Volunteer Fire Fighter

Being a volunteer fire fighter requires continuous training. This includes emergency patient care, CPR, first aid, rescue, extrication, and firefighting. Specialized training is also pursued at state and federal levels and includes "incident command and control", field policy response, equipment training, as well as state and local protocols and procedures.

NAES Power

Served as Project Manager on Fuji power nozzle overhaul to two 60 MW Pelton wheel hydro turbine in Bradley Lake, AK.

Atlantic Plant Maintenance / General Electric

Provided Field service and maintenance work on steam turbines, combustion turbines, and generators. I served APM for over twelve years with no reportable accidents and over 100 turbine projects. I also logged over 4000 hours operating a variety of cranes without an accident. Projects ranged from routine valve and combustion inspections to major overhauls, and the occasional emergency outage.

Power Maintenance Resources Inc.

60MW Hydroelectric Generation Plant located in Bradley Lake, AK - Hydro unit driven with 19,000ft penstock and five high pressure water jet nozzles. Performed a major rebuild on all five nozzles. Installed and laser aligned cooling circulation pumps and vacuum pumps for a 750 MW steam turbine at Duke Energy in Moss Landing, CA during a forced holiday outage.

Siemens Westinghouse

750 MW Steam Turbine Major Retrofit - Replaced all internal turbine components, including new HP rotor, new LP rotors and inner shells, and converted generator to liquid cooled.

Burk Electric

82MW Vertical Hydroelectric Generation Station at Wells Dam in WA - Replaced the governor control systems for 5 units at Wells dam. The mechanical Woodward governor system was also replaced with digital electronics over a hydraulic control system.

Fluor Daniels

Duke Energy Power Plant in Moss Landing, CA - New installation of GE combined cycle stag turbine/generators. Units used four Frame 7 gas turbines and two D 11 333MW steam turbines. The head rigger was under a 650-ton lattice boom crane. I was responsible for all critical path installation and alignment of steam path and steam turbine components.
